Key Responsibilities
Interns will support their assigned teams in:
- Conducting thematic research
- Preparing programme briefs & concept notes
- Mapping partners across government, UN, private sector & civil society
- Supporting coordination meetings & documentation
- Assisting with SDG data collection & visualization
- Drafting minutes, human‑interest stories & lessons‑learned briefs
- Supporting workshops, consultations & learning events
- Contributing to digitalization & operational efficiency
- Performing additional tasks as assigned
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the internship, interns will:
- Understand UNDP Ethiopia’s CPD 2025–2030
- Gain hands‑on experience in integrated development programming
- Strengthen research, communication & analytical skills
- Learn how UNDP collaborates within the UN system
- Develop familiarity with programme operations & delivery mechanisms
Required Qualifications
Applicants must meet one of the following:
- Enrolled in a postgraduate programme (MA/MSc or higher)
- Final‑year undergraduate student
- Recent graduate (within 1 year)
- Enrolled in a postgraduate traineeship programme
Fields of Study:
Political Science, International Relations, Development Studies, Peace & Conflict Studies, Governance, Public Policy, Law, Software Engineering, Climate/Environmental Science, Engineering, Economics, Logistics, Management, Communication, or related fields.
Desired Skills
- Data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, R, SPSS)
- Familiarity with digital innovation, AI, sustainable finance
- Strong writing, editing & presentation skills
- Ability to work in multicultural teams

Conditions of Internship
- Interns are not UNDP staff
- Stipend provided per UNDP rules
- Must have valid medical insurance
- No expectation of employment after internship
- Mandatory Capstone Assignment at the end of the internship
