Position: Consultant – Humanitarian Planning, Coordination, and Operational Support
The consultant will provide targeted technical support to strengthen UNICEF Ethiopia’s humanitarian planning, coordination, and operational capacities.
Key Objectives
- Strengthen emergency preparedness, anticipatory action, and rapid response capacities
- Enhance donor engagement and private‑sector outreach
- Improve reporting, data management, and situational analysis
- Support resource mobilization efforts
- Provide operational support and conduct regular field visits
Minimum Requirements
Education:
- Advanced university degree in social sciences, public administration, international law, public health, nutrition, international relations, business administration, or related disciplines
- Preferably a combination of management, administration, and technical fields
Experience:
- At least 8 years of professional work experience at international and national levels in programme/project development, planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and administration
- Specialized training/experience in resilience, nexus/durable solutions, and public health emergencies programme management is highly desirable
Skills:
- Strong technical expertise in humanitarian coordination and operational support
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; knowledge of SAP is desirable
Language:
- Fluency in English with strong written and verbal communication skills
