Position: Finance and Administration Officer

Duty Station: Harar, Ethiopia
Reports to: Country Manager

Job Purpose:
The Finance and Admin Officer will provide financial control and accounting services to the Tearfund project office in Harar, ensuring compliance with Tearfund Finance Policies and Procedures. The role also manages administrative duties such as office logistics, procurement, and record‑keeping.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Budget management, financial recording, and document control.
  • Bank accounts and cash management, payments, and reporting.
  • Ensure adherence to donor regulations, Tearfund policies, and statutory obligations.
  • Manage office administration, procurement, and logistics.
  • Support payroll management and financial reporting.
  • Safeguard Tearfund’s assets and minimize risks of financial loss or fraud.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related fields.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in Finance and Administration roles within INGOs.
  • Knowledge of financial systems, internal controls, and donor compliance.
  • Experience in accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, procurement, and office administration.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and Google Workspace.
  • Fluency in English and Amharic.
