Job Purpose
The Security Assistant will perform specialized responsibilities related to security operations, including monitoring threats, maintaining security equipment, and supporting safe program delivery in Gode Sub‑Office.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and report on security threats, risks, and incidents.
- Liaise with local authorities, UN/NGO security staff, and communities to ensure safe program delivery.
- Plan and conduct field missions, track staff, and prepare security assessment reports.
- Support implementation of UN Security Management System (UNSMS) standards and Minimum Operational Security Standards (MOSS).
- Manage and maintain security equipment and access control procedures.
- Contribute to emergency and contingency planning.
- Identify security training needs and provide on‑the‑job training to staff.
- Supervise junior staff and support their professional development.
Qualifications

Education: Completion of secondary school required; a first‑level university degree is desirable.

Experience: Minimum 5 years of progressive work in security.

Languages: Fluency in English and Somali (oral and written).

Preferred Experience:
- Prior UN or international NGO security experience.
- Knowledge of compliance, investigation, and accountability processes.
- Strong organizational and coordination skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and office software.
