Position: Economic Recovery Assistant – Assosa Field Office
Role Purpose
The Economic Recovery Assistant provides operational, field‑level, and administrative support to the Economic Recovery Officer to ensure effective delivery of livelihoods, financial inclusion, and economic recovery programs. The role supports Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs), income‑generating activities (IGAs), vocational training, and decent livelihoods diversification initiatives for refugee and host communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support day‑to‑day implementation of economic recovery and financial inclusion activities.
- Assist in establishing and mentoring Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs).
- Facilitate income‑generating activities, vocational skills training, and business development.
- Mobilize communities and ensure inclusion of women, youth, and vulnerable groups.
- Collect and manage field‑level data, monitor program activities, and prepare reports.
- Provide logistical and administrative support for training and distributions.
- Promote gender equality, women’s economic empowerment, and GBV prevention.
- Document success stories and lessons learned for program reporting.
Qualifications & Experience
- BA in Development Economics, Business Administration, Agriculture, Rural Development, Entrepreneurship, or related fields.
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in livelihoods, financial inclusion, VSLAs, IGAs, or microenterprise development.
- Experience in refugee, IDP, or host community settings is highly advantageous.
- Strong skills in community mobilization, outreach, and engagement with local authorities.
- Knowledge of gender mainstreaming, protection, and peacebuilding/social cohesion.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data management tools.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of local languages is an advantage.
