About the Organization
Doctors with Africa CUAMM is an international NGO dedicated to strengthening healthcare systems and improving access to essential health services across Africa. In Ethiopia, CUAMM provides mobile health and nutrition services, focusing on primary healthcare, maternal and child health, and emergency response for vulnerable communities.
Position: Health Officer
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver primary healthcare services, including consultation and treatment of acute and life‑threatening illnesses.
- Conduct daily team meetings to review caseloads, identify epidemiological trends, and allocate tasks.
- Provide on‑the‑job training, mentoring, and capacity building for nurses, midwives, and other staff.
- Manage dispensary operations, drug supply, and ensure proper documentation of services.
- Lead outbreak preparedness and response (measles, cholera, etc.) and implement infection prevention measures.
- Strengthen referral mechanisms and coordinate patient transfers to health facilities.
- Promote awareness on nutrition and preventative health care among IDP communities.
- Analyze health and nutrition data using EMR and Excel to identify morbidity patterns and coverage gaps.
- Ensure accurate reporting (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly) to supervisors and health offices.
- Represent CUAMM in CCCM (Camp Coordination and Camp Management) meetings and coordinate with other humanitarian actors.
Qualifications

Education: BSc Degree in Public Health

Experience: Minimum 2 years as a Health Officer, including at least 1 year in Mobile Health and Nutrition Teams (MHNT)

Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Ability to use EMR software (with orientation)
- Strong communication and reporting skills
