About the Role
Farm Africa is seeking a Procurement Officer to ensure efficient, transparent, and timely procurement processes. The role involves conducting market research, managing suppliers, facilitating fair evaluations, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies to secure quality goods and services at competitive prices.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and consolidate procurement plans, conduct market research, and develop price indexes.
- Identify potential suppliers and maintain a prequalified supplier list.
- Manage purchase requisitions (PRs) and terms of reference (ToRs) with clear specifications.
- Prepare price inquiries, request quotations, and facilitate supplier evaluations.
- Issue award letters and purchase orders, ensuring clear payment and delivery terms.
- Inspect and receive purchased items, hand over to storekeeper, and compile documentation.
- Facilitate payment processing and timely closure of procurement actions.
- Maintain supplier relationships and promote transparency throughout procurement cycles.
- Travel to field offices when required to support procurement activities.

Person Specification
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or relevant field.
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience, preferably in an international NGO setting.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
Skills & Abilities
- Second Grade Driving License or equivalent.
- Strong computer skills (Excel and Word).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
