Background
FSD Ethiopia works to build accessible, inclusive, and sustainable financial markets. In partnership with the National Bank of Ethiopia (NBE), this consultancy supports the implementation of the second National Financial Inclusion Strategy (NFIS). The consultant will develop multimedia content to enhance public understanding of NBE’s financial inclusion initiatives.
Position: Independent Consultant – Digital Media Specialist & Content Developer
Key Responsibilities

Video Production: Script, shoot, and edit videos highlighting NBE initiatives; produce financial literacy content; create documentaries and interviews with diverse stakeholders.

Graphic Design: Develop infographics, branding materials, and campaign visuals tailored to Ethiopia’s diverse audiences.

Content Creation: Write and manage social media posts, newsletters, brochures, and digital content ensuring inclusive representation.

Campaign Support: Assist in multimedia campaigns promoting financial inclusion, focusing on women and marginalized groups.

Training & Development: Train NBE staff in multimedia content creation and gender‑inclusive communication practices.

Collaboration: Work with NBE departments, external partners, and media outlets to amplify outreach.
Qualifications
- BA/MA in Journalism, Communications, Graphic Design, Media Studies, or related fields.
- BA in business/economics with certification in communications/design also considered.
- 3–5 years of experience in video editing, graphic design, and content creation (preferably in business/economic reporting).
- Proven track record in multimedia content for public outreach or education.

Technical Skills: Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects), social media optimization.

Languages: Excellent English & Amharic (written and spoken).

Attributes: Creativity, attention to detail, ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
Deliverables
- Monthly multimedia production reports.
- Content for newsletters, brochures, and campaigns.
- Technical advice and recommendations on financial inclusion communication.
- Training sessions for NBE staff.
