Position: Communication Intern
The Communications Intern will support the Communications Unit within the Country MEL team, contributing to documentation, storytelling, photo/video content creation, and communication products.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect and caption high-quality photographs from field programs.
- Document human-interest stories from program sites.
- Develop and post content on internal platforms and social media.
- Assist in organizing weekly learning-hour sessions and internal events.
- Compile success stories, capacity statements, and visibility materials.
- Support photo/video documentation during events and field visits.
- Ensure all materials comply with Mercy Corps branding guidelines.
- Dedicate 40% of time to supporting the New Initiatives & Partnerships team.
Expected Deliverables
- Human-interest stories and success stories documented.
- Regular content updates on Viva Engage, LinkedIn, and internal channels.
- Organized weekly learning-hour events.
- Well-structured communication files and visibility materials.
- Professionally designed reports, briefs, and communication products.
Qualifications
- BA degree in Journalism, English Language & Literature, Law, Public Relations, Political Science & International Relations, or related fields (recent graduate 2025/2026).
- One recommendation letter from a recognized higher education institution.
- Basic photography and camera handling skills desirable.
- Strong communication, writing, and storytelling skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks.
Additional Responsibilities
- Support Mercy Corps’ Gender, Equality, Diversity, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) priorities.
- Follow security protocols during field visits and content gathering.
- Uphold accountability standards and ethical representation of program participants.
