Position: Logistics Coordinator

Overview

The Logistics Coordinator will oversee procurement and logistics activities within the Ethiopia programme. Reporting to the Country Director, the role ensures efficient, compliant, and timely support to programme operations, including scale‑up activities such as EORE, survey, and clearance operations. The position requires adapting logistics systems to complex and evolving security and access constraints.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement:

  • Manage day‑to‑day procurement activities in compliance with MAG procedures and donor requirements.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and liaise with suppliers for timely completion of orders.
  • Lead supplier vetting and registration, manage contracts, and ensure adherence to terms.
  • Support rapid procurement for mine action teams in hard‑to‑reach areas.
  • Prepare weekly procurement reports and oversee tender processes.

Distribution & Logistics:

  • Organize transportation and dispatch of equipment/supplies to operational areas.
  • Ensure accurate recording of incoming supplies and timely delivery to field locations.
  • Coordinate fleet management, asset tracking, and premises management.
  • Support field base setup and logistics readiness for multi‑task team deployment.
  • Oversee consumables, inventory, and travel bookings for staff.

Administration & Reporting:

  • Maintain logistics filing systems and documentation.
  • Provide daily and monthly reports on logistics and procurement activities.
  • Contribute inputs to operational planning and programme scale‑up.
  • Uphold MAG’s safeguarding framework and organizational values.

Candidate Profile

Essential Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in procurement and logistics, preferably in NGOs/humanitarian operations.
  • Experience with tender processes, fleet and asset management, and supporting field operations.
  • Understanding of logistics in security‑constrained settings.
  • Strong negotiation, administration, and IT skills (Word/Excel).
  • Language: Fluency in English and Amharic (mandatory).

Desirable:

  • Experience in mine action organizations.
  • Supervisory skills and ability to manage small teams.
  • Experience in remote or insecure environments.
