About the Role

The Logistics Coordinator Assistant supports the Logistics Coordinator in managing logistics operations at the coordination base and across MSF projects. The role ensures proper fleet, facility, IT, and supply chain management, while contributing to emergency preparedness and compliance with MSF standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and supervise logistics at the coordination base (repairs, maintenance, stock management, cleanliness).
  • Support ordering and transport of goods to projects, ensuring quality and timeliness.
  • Organize and supervise vehicle fleet (schedules, maintenance, registration, insurance, fuel).
  • Assist with IT and communication equipment maintenance.
  • Ensure repair and maintenance of generators, cold chain equipment, water pumps, and other technical systems.
  • Support emergency preparedness (stocks, contacts, transport, staff training).
  • Maintain logistics documentation and archiving systems.
  • Track contract renewals, expirations, and compliance.
  • Supervise Base & Facility Officer, Head of Drivers, and Radio Operators.
  • Provide logistics briefings for new staff.
  • Monitor annual leave of logistics team in Addis.
  • Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance plans are implemented.
  • Fill gaps in project logistics teams when required.

Education & Experience

Essential:

  • B.Sc. in Engineering (Construction, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Electromechanical) OR BA in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as Logistics Supervisor/Base & Facility Officer.
  • Proven experience in fleet, facility, asset management, and reporting.
  • Knowledge of logistics administration and compliance with Ethiopian laws.
  • Fluent in English.

Desirable:

  • Logistics‑related training.
  • Experience with MSF or other NGOs.
  • Knowledge of local languages (Afan Oromo, Tigrigna, etc.).
