About SOS Sahel Ethiopia
SOS Sahel Ethiopia, in partnership with IIRR and MELCA‑Ethiopia, is implementing the MaYEA Program nationwide across 135 woredas. The program aims to disrupt Ethiopia’s apiculture sector by tripling honey production by 2028, recruiting 300,000 new beekeepers, supporting 350,000 existing young farmers, and engaging 350,000 youth in value‑chain activities.
Open Positions
1. Communication Officer – Addis Ababa

Qualification: BA/Master’s in Communication, IT, Public Relations, or related fields.

Experience: Minimum 5 years in communication, IT management, and advocacy (preferably donor‑funded projects).

Skills:
- Designing and implementing communication strategies.
- Managing websites, social media, and IT systems.
- Strong content creation (press releases, newsletters, social media).
- Media relations and advocacy.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute communication strategies.
- Produce high‑quality content for multiple channels.
- Manage IT systems and website content.
- Build relationships with media and stakeholders.
- Ensure safeguarding principles in communication activities.
2. Gender, Youth, and Safeguarding Officer – Hawassa (Sidama Cluster)

Qualification: BA/MBA in Sociology, Gender, Social Work, Law, Psychology, or related fields.

Experience: Minimum 5 years in gender, youth engagement, safeguarding, or related programs.

Skills:
- Teamwork, coordination, partnership building.
- Multi‑stakeholder engagement and facilitation.
- Strong communication and problem‑solving.
- Advanced computer skills.

Responsibilities:
- Lead gender, youth, and safeguarding activities in Sidama Cluster.
- Build capacity of woreda program officers.
- Promote youth and women’s participation in apiculture enterprises.
- Implement safeguarding policies, conduct training, and ensure compliance.
- Document and report program progress and learning.
