About SWR Ethiopia

Stichting Wageningen Research (SWR) Ethiopia is an international NGO registered with the FDRE Agency for Civil Society Organizations since March 2021. The organization promotes resilient, inclusive, and sustainable food systems in Ethiopia. Through the Ethiopia Seed Partnership (ESP) project, SWR Ethiopia enhances the capacity of fresh graduates in seed‑related fields and creates job opportunities by linking them with local and international seed companies.

Position: Intern – Seed Sector (Local & International Seed Companies)

Eligibility Criteria

  • Recent graduate from a recognized university in Horticulture, Plant Science, Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Rural Development, Marketing, or Crop Production.
  • Graduates from Agricultural TVETs with satisfactory CoC results (Level IV).
  • Interest in working in the seed sector.
  • Confirmation letter from host organization (seed company or agricultural research center) willing to provide placement.
  • Willingness to participate full‑time for 3–6 months.
  • Must not have previously participated in any internship program.
  • Meet additional requirements listed in the application form.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Participate in pre‑assignment, follow‑up, and on‑the‑job training.
  • Gain practical understanding of seed sector operations.
  • Undertake assignments given by host organizations.
  • Develop existing skills and acquire new experiences.
  • Work in a multicultural environment to broaden professional networks.
