SWR Ethiopia is an international NGO registered in Ethiopia since March 2021, working to promote resilient, inclusive, and sustainable food systems. One of its flagship programs is TRANSFORM – Transform Soil Fertility Management in Ethiopia, implemented in consortium with IFDC, Wageningen Environmental Research, ISRIC, SOS Sahel Ethiopia, ECFF, and other partners.
The organization now invites qualified candidates to apply for the following positions:
1. Community Development Facilitator (CDF)
Project: TRANSFORM
Reports to: Project Site Coordinator & Project Manager
Career Level: Senior (5–8 years)

Role Summary
The Community Development Facilitator leads the implementation of the TRANSFORM program at woreda and kebele levels. The role focuses on improving soil health and fertility management through integrated soil fertility management (ISFM) approaches, empowering farmers, and promoting inclusive, participatory planning and learning processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate participatory approaches to engage farmers in soil fertility management.
- Provide technical support to Development Agents (DAs) and farmers.
- Promote organic input production (composting, lime, vermicomposting) with focus on youth job creation.
- Facilitate demand assessments for soil inputs and engage in participatory action research.
- Support dissemination of soil fertility and soil health technologies.
- Train farmers and extension staff in ISFM techniques.
- Collaborate with government partners and consortium members.
- Prepare and submit regular technical and financial reports.
Qualification Requirements
- BSc in Agricultural Science, Agricultural Extension, Rural Development, or related fields with 5 years’ experience
- MSc in related fields with 3 years’ experience
- Solid experience in soil health and fertility management
- Experience working with agribusiness/private sector and smallholder farmers
- Strong facilitation, communication, and participatory engagement skills
- ICT proficiency; motorbike license preferred
- Strong command of English and fluency in Amharic

2. Driver
Career Level: Junior (1–3 years)

Role Summary
The Driver will provide safe and efficient transportation services for SWR Ethiopia staff and project activities, ensuring proper vehicle management and adherence to organizational policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive project staff and visitors to field sites and meetings.
- Ensure vehicles are maintained, serviced, and kept in good condition.
- Maintain accurate vehicle logbooks and fuel records.
- Adhere to traffic laws and organizational safety standards.
- Support logistics and administrative tasks when required.
Qualification Requirements
- Valid driving license with relevant category
- Minimum of 3 years’ driving experience in NGOs or similar organizations
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and basic mechanics
- Good communication skills and ability to work with diverse teams
- Fluency in Amharic; English language skills are an asset
