Position: Driver Mechanic
Job Purpose
The Driver Mechanic will ensure safe vehicle operation and reliable transportation services while performing minor mechanical maintenance and repairs on automobiles, buses, trucks, and related equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive and manage World Vision Ethiopia vehicles in compliance with local laws and organizational policies.
- Conduct pre‑ and post‑journey inspections to minimize wear and tear.
- Perform vehicle technical inspections and prepare for scheduled services.
- Maintain accurate vehicle logbooks and fuel consumption records.
- Perform minor repairs, maintenance, and cleaning of assigned vehicles.
- Monitor vehicle performance and submit timely maintenance requests.
- Verify records of all work done on vehicles and ensure accuracy.
- Provide courteous service to staff and visitors, ensuring maximum satisfaction.
- Carry out additional assignments as directed by the supervisor.
Qualification Requirements
- 12th Grade Complete / 10+2 / TVET Diploma
- Valid 3rd Grade Driving License
- Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience, preferably with INGOs
- Skills in routine vehicle maintenance and minor repairs
- Ability to perform limited tasks independently
Languages:
- Basic spoken and written English
- Knowledge of local languages is an advantage
Work Environment:
- Field‑based with frequent travel to project implementation areas
